Your screenshots stay local.
SnapLocal is designed as a local-first browser extension. It does not require an account or a cloud screenshot service.
Screenshot processing: Captured screenshots are processed locally by the extension. SnapLocal does not upload screenshots to an external server.
Temporary storage: Temporary capture data and state may be held using Chrome's extension session storage, with an in-memory fallback, so a screenshot can be passed between the capture workflow and editor.
Webpage access: SnapLocal accesses the active webpage when you explicitly invoke a capture function. This access is used to perform the requested screenshot operation.
Downloads: SnapLocal uses Chrome's download functionality only when you choose to save a screenshot as a PNG file.
Accounts and tracking: SnapLocal does not require a SnapLocal account and the extension does not include an external analytics or advertising service.
Data selling: SnapLocal does not sell user data.
